Surface-controlled mechanical cutter for downhole tubulars, deployed on e-line or eSlickline to produce a clean cut without a protruding edge.
The Mechanical Tubing Cutter (MTC) cuts downhole tubulars using an electrically powered rotating blade. It produces a clean cut without a protruding edge, supporting subsequent pipe recovery work.
Two anchor sections hold the tool in position during cutting. Once the cut is complete, the blade and anchors retract within the tool profile for retrieval to surface.
The cutter is deployed on conventional e-line or eSlickline and controlled from surface through a dedicated panel. A software interface records tool parameters during operation. The tool requires no dangerous goods, simplifying transport.
